Season I was the inaugural season of the Elite Football League. The league was founded during the summer of 2018 by Ja_ron; the regular season began on July 9, 2018 and ended approximately on August 30, 2018. The postseason ended on September 22, 2018, the day of Elite Bowl I, the league championship game. The season saw the inaugural play of two conferences, the Legendary Football Conference and the Professional Football Conference, each with four teams.
Season I was one of the most unstable seasons, coach-wise, in league history with each team burning through at least two head coaches within the span of the season. The Conway Tigers currently hold the record with most head coaches in a season with five (KammyFreemanIII, NoRelease, yungpopper, JamesParkerIII, Alshonn), the first of which never even coached a game for the team.
The season also saw the relocation of the original Canton Bulldogs to the Tulsa Titans and the Cameron City Cougars to the new Canton Bulldogs. For this reason, the Tulsa Titans and the Canton Bulldogs are now considered to be two different franchises. The Conway Tigers, the oldest franchise in the league, was relocated to the Key West Pirates during Week 5 of the season.
The Washington State Panthers defeated the Canton Bulldogs 54-27 in Elite Bowl I to become the Season I champions.
